Helping Disabled Adults To Get Jobs

If you have a physical or mental disability, it can be a challenge to find work. However, there are various non profit companies all over the US that specialize in helping disabled adults get jobs, and keeping their job once employed. The process is often known as supported employment and it covers every part of the job finding process, once a disabled person has registered and been accepted by one of these non-profit groups. Supported employment or direct support professionals help with creating a resume, identifying work interests and skills, interview practice, applying for jobs, and even with how to dress for an interview. Once employed, the support doesn’t stop there, and those with disabilities who are employed typically get help with work orientation, transport to and from work, keeping up with their work schedule, deciphering their paycheck, and learning new tasks as needed.
