Most people know that a reduced sex drive is one of the more obvious low testosterone symptoms. However, there are other signs that your levels of this hormone may be lower, including for men, less body hair and a beard that doesn’t grow as it used to. General tiredness and changes in sleeping habits, including difficulty falling asleep can be signs of a lower testosterone level, as can sleep apnea. Mood swings or depression are common, along with a feeling of lethargy or of being generally unmotivated. It’s not unusual to experience hot flashes too. Extra body fat and lower muscle density are also unwanted symptoms, as is a growth in breast tissue. If you have any of these symptoms, it may be time to consult your doctor, although many people only find out their testosterone levels are low after having routine blood work.
