Telehealth Chart uses a patient’s electronic medical record, or CMR, to transfer the information directly to a physician’s office via an Internet connection. This eliminates the need for the patient to leave their home or other location in order to see their physician. The primary advantage of this system is that the patient can have access to their health records from virtually anywhere they are, as long as they have internet access and a credit card. Since the information is transferred electronically, a copy can be made immediately if necessary. The patient will not need to make a separate trip to a physical location to obtain the needed documents. Telehealth providers will also provide assistance with insurance verification and education about patient safety and privacy concerns. The system is now more prevalent because of its ease of use and time-saving features.
