The Certified Associate in Project Management (or CAPM) is designed for people working in the project management field. It helps to prove a holder’s credibility and effectiveness when performing a project management role, both as an individual or as a member of a team. Studies have shown that organizations that use industry best practices achieve better results and that is what this certification is designed for.
To achieve CAPM certification, a candidate must have achieved a secondary degree in the project management field (that is, a high school diploma plus an associate degree or international equivalent). They must also have at least 23 hours of project management related education completed before they are eligible to sit the exam. The exam itself consists of a multiple choice test containing 150 questions that must be completed within a three hour time period. To maintain certification a holder must re-take the test every five years.
