Relationship counselling, also called couples therapy, allows people in a relationship to explore their emotional interactions and individual behaviors in a non-judgmental environment where they are encouraged to be more conscious of their actions and decisions and the impacts these have on their partner.
A relationship counselor is a trained psychotherapist that has experience in relationship dynamics and listens to couples with empathy and objectivity. This allows the people in a relationship to talk honestly about their feelings and problems in a safe environment. Counselors help couples to deal with any negative thoughts and feelings they have and provide guidance on how to resolve them. The goal is for each person to better understand themselves and their partner and with the guidance of the counselor make positive changes that will improve their relationship as well as leading to personal growth.
